It was the battle of the basement dwellers when 9th place Rapid FC faced off against 10th place Guardians FC, prior to their match, neither team had won a single match this season. Rapid FC showed great sense of urgency in the first half, winning nearly every 50/50 ball, it was long before team captain, J. Ross, put his team ahead with a beautiful finish in the 9th minute. That goal would be just the first of 3 goals in less than 10 minutes with Rapid adding to their lead just moments later and Guardians getting on the board themselves not too long after. The 2nd half would start with Rapid nursing a 2-1 lead, a lead that would grow to 3-2 as both teams traded goals in quick succession once again.
Guardians FC have struggled defensively this season, mostly due to lack of cohesion in the backline, made worse by lack of player availability, it was no surprise when they started to come apart in their own half, Rapid would capitalize on this and found the back of the net 2 more times before the final whistle blew. With their offensive finally clicking, Rapid will take on the role of David next week when they face off with the Sexto Goliath that is Sunday Georgie. Guardians FC will need to win their last 2 games and hope FC BTC manages to lose out otherwise, they will start the spring season off in Septima.
