Rebels came into this game with the intention to slow down Vidas FC who had not allowed a goal in their past 3 wins. Rebels started really well and got the lead in the 25th minute thanks to a goal from Tez Hilliard. Vidas bounced back and got an equalizer before the end of the first half with a back post header from Schaefte.
Into the second half, Vidas were the most dangerous team early and showed that by getting a go-ahead goal thanks again to Schaefte in the 61st minute. They later were awarded a PK which was converted by #8 Gatley to make it a 2-goal lead. At this point, Rebels changed their approach and went all out in attack, something Vidas took advantage of to score 2 more goals courtesy of Schefte who finished with a hat-trick and a late goal from Collado.
This marks the 4th win in a row for Vidas, all by 3 or more goals as they seem to be the most in-form team in the division. Their next game is against last-place Kensington SC so they will be hoping to collect all 3 points. For Rebels, it is a tough loss that sees them fall outside a playoff spot. Their next match against FC Delta may prove key in a very tight race for the playoffs.
